In this exhibit, I am showing works that are completed in a variety of mediums and styles. There isn’t a theme or consistent message, but simply a visual collection of the range of my creative impulses.
My intention is to honor the intuitive within with whatever comes forth and interests me, captures my attention, and satisfies my needs. Sometimes, the impulse is for precision and at other times I have the need for less structure with more freedom to explore with more physical involvement in the painting or drawing process.
Several months ago, I received a card from a caring and insightful friend with whom I have shared my inner dialogues and efforts as a creative individual. I read the card every time I enter the studio to work. It reads:
“This is the season she will make beautiful things. Not perfect things but honest things that speak to who she is and who she is called to be.”
May it be so.
